Next year we have more of a chance!
Interesting news. It could give us all to aspire for. Event though the rumor is that the prize money is at an all time low. So I guess this is a good want to get a bigger entry fee and steal it from pete to give to paul.

PBA to Return to Non-Exempt Tour for 2012-13 Season
by Bill Vint November 10, 2011 06:34
SEATTLE – The constantly changing climate in the world of professional sports has prompted the Professional Bowlers Association to return to a competitive environment that will re-open the doors to its national tour to all aspiring professional bowlers.
Changes in competition rules, announced to the PBA membership at the start of the PBA World Series of Bowling, will mean the end of the “exempt tour” concept the PBA has employed since the 2004-05 season and a return to a “non-exempt” Tour program for the 2012-13 season. Read More....

Husker workout schedule for bowlers
Husker workout schedule for bowlers
I'll tell ya right now. I would never survive a training with this college team. I think both of my knees would give out in the first 5 minutes. Athletes are much more advanced these days when it comes to sports and are definately gear for the long run. But to be honest with you. I don't remember a lot of guys or girls in bowling ever really getting serious injuries either. Ummm maybe to much is to much? Anyways still a good read. Check out the article below
According to Gary Giebelhaus
The weight room at the University of Nebraska is legendary in college football circles. In the 1970s and ’80s it was the training program developed by Boyd Eppley that helped produce the monster players.
Bowling coach Bill Straub had eyed the program for years and finally asked Eppley if he would develop a program for the bowling squad. Eppley designed a workout regime for bowlers, a program Straub and his national championship men’s and women’s teams still employ today.
The key exercise is the squat. When you bowl, you are always on your feet. You have to have balance, power, grace, agility and mobility all at the same time. Squats help bowlers avoid knee problems and develop the synergistic muscles that support the joints.
Eppley also is a strong believer in the “Hang Snatch” which is one motion that starts with the bar at your knees and you snatch it up and over your head. You use your whole body.
Here is the “Heavy Workout” suggested by the UNL coaching staff during the bowling season:
n 12-15 minutes of cardiovascular exercise prior to lifting.
n 4 sets of squats (10 reps, 8 reps, 6 reps, 4 reps) increase weight each rep set.
n 2 sets of lunges.
n 4 sets of hang snatch — same reps as squats.
n Bench press (2 sets of 10 reps).
n Biceps (arm curls) — 2 sets of 10 reps.
n Triceps (2 sets of 10 reps).
n Bent over shoulder raise (2 sets of 10 reps).
The above workout is to be done once per week during the season and twice per weak in the off season. There is also a suggested “light workout,” which includes walking, biking, jogging and swimming. As you can see, becoming a fine-tuned athletic bowler takes some work. Some may compare it to the “bridge run” if you are a tennis coach.

Kind of feeling this one! Bowling Cruelty Video
Recently google ads suspended my account because of the support from my fans. It was across the board on three websites www.eastcoastsurfer.com , www.alltenback.com and this blog. This all went down this past weekend when google decided they weren't going to pay me. Hell they might even take away my blogger account as well seeing I am posting this.
After doing some research I found if you make more than 4% more money than you did last month they think you are scamming them. I am using another ad company now but still not getting the money that was owed to me that I was counting on hurts and really will set me back. Just a warning to anyone that uses google adsence. Keep a constant flow of clicks and supports to your website.
this video sums up my feelings today.

Pete Weber "Best Tip" video. Picking up Spares especially 10 pins!
Pete Weber is one of my top 10 favorite bowlers to watch on the PBA Tour
In this video Pete shows us the importance of picking up all your spares. Especially those pestky 10 pin spares. Definately one of those parts of my game I need to improve on.
I will watch this over and over in my brain till it finally sinks in. (if that is possible)
Well it kinda did! I only missed 1 - 10 pin spare last night and the week before that I missed 6 of them. Last week I bowled 629 scratch this week 646. So spares help.

PBA World Series of Bowling Preview: CONFIDENCE
Bowl with Confidence. A great PBA video a friend posted on FB.
My Favorite quote was from Michael Haugen Jr. where he says "all ten down" so close to saying "all ten back. We will have to work on that one Mike.
Great video must watch for any fan of bowling and the PBA.
I guess this is what they mean by being in the "zone". Hopefully I will have that feeling soon.

Storm Marvel Pearl a much better smelling ball IMO
Well the Smell of the New Storm Marvel Pearl is the sweet smell of Aromatherapy. Much like the original Storm Marvel (watch video here)
Well with all that Smelly Business out of the way. I just bought this ball for my Bowling Team Mate and Father for his 69th Birthday. I really hope this is the ball for him. His goal this year is to get his average up and over 200. So I am hoping this ball with get him there.
Check out the video above and click on in video banner to help a fellow bowler out. We all have to support the scene.

Michael Fagan Gets Heckled by a 3 year old
Even though this little 3 year old boy is giving Mike Fagan the business. He does get up and back it up. It is a pretty impressive roll by a 3 year old bowler. It is also is impressive when you see Fagan roll the ball left handed with a house ball.
I am sure this is all for fun but it seems like a good time to me.

Virtual Gravity Nano by Storm Bowling Who's getting one? Not if you are allergic to Chocolate!
The video above is from Videoballreviews.com It seems like their site has gone on hiatus but they still crank out videos on their youtube channel. So my suggestion is if you like these video subscribe to their youtube channel.
Anyways I am looking to get my Father and bowling team mate a new bowling ball. I am leaning towards the Storm Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl I might have it drilled up for him with a 4x4x2 lay out so it will give him good length and strong back end reaction.
The Strangest thing I have to take into consideration is the SMELL of the ball. Yes the Smell. Who would ever think you would have to consider a smell as an option not to get this bowling ball. Both my Father and I are allergic to Chocolate. Yes yes we hear it all the time "oh poor you". But believe me if you knew how sick it made us you wouldn't like it either. So the Smell of the Nano Pearl is "Orange Chocolate" Ummm I know this ball is off my list because even the fake smell of Chocolate makes me ill.
I will keep ya all posted on if and when he gets this ball.
Thanks

Air time with Michael Fagan "Lofty Goals"
I came across this video but I have Seen PBA Michael Fagan aka "The king of swing" do this before on live TV. Very amazing versitily Fagan has. I have seen him able to play all over the lane whether it is shots like this or straight up the 5 board. This guy knows how to win and make TV shows. I am always tuned in when he makes the finals on TV. He currently to my knowledge bowls for Track aka "The number bowling ball company" Mike Fagan also enjoys surfing (bodyboarding I heard but he did say surfing on TV but I will give the sponger the bennifit because he bowls so well) Good luck to the new season Mr Michael Fagan.

Do you DV8?
Well Brunswick is trying to change their image a bit and hide under the name of DV8. This balls are the "made in Mexico" bowling balls. So if you are a Made in the USA kinda bowler then this ball isn't for you.
I understand why Brunswick is making this move because it is hard to change your image overnight and with just coming out with a New Line of bowling balls is probably the easiest way. Brunswick (In my opinion) lost a little of their market share when they stopped with the "inferno" line up of bowling balls. It was a pretty popular line up and since then they really just haven't had a decent line up. Just a bunch of bowling balls released with out really an arsenal type setup.
Well with that being said they started up DV8 Bowling balls. With cool hipster ads and even glow in the dark bowling balls on the Misfit DV8 line up. It looks like they built a little bit of the old way of thinking arsenal release.
The Hell Raiser Bowling ball by DV8 (already a top 10 seller) featured in the video above is there Heaviest Oil bowling ball. Some say it is Comparable to the Storm Virtual Gravity Nano. Well it seems like everyone is using the Nano as the "compare to" bowling ball. DV8 also has the Medium-heavy oil ball in the Reckless and the medium to light oil bowling ball in the Misfit.
To wrap this small article up. I have heard a lot of good things about these DV8 Bowling balls. If they have a demo day it might be worth a look. I am the most interested in the Misfit seeing the price point of that bowling ball for 89 bucks seems to really catch everyone eye with not just looks.
If you have one drop and comment and let me know how ya like it. I am very interested to hear.

back to back 9-7 wins
I just posted this on my blog at Alltenback.com
but I will post it here as well

"Well let me start off with. I had no clue we won. The one guy we where bowling against had to establish an average. Well it came out in the wash his average was a whole lot higher than the other team we bowled against calculated. So when the League Secretary adjusted the Scores. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner we won 9-7. It is our 2nd week of winning 9-7. Tom Dolan and I (Brent Dolan) both bowled 2 good games out of the three. We both had a stinker game in there Tom bowled a 156 in the 2nd game and I bowled a 150 in the 1st game.
But we didn’t give up. Thomas J. Dolan beared down and Rolled a game winning 222 in his last game (bowling anchor man by the way) and his first game was 201 with a total of 579 scratch. He still bowled with “Old Betsy” the Hammer Sauce. It is his go to ball. His bowling ball Drilled by Tony C @ Big Daddy's Pro Shop
I Rolled a horrible 150 game because I tried a different bowling ball (storm Marvel btw it just didn’t want to work for me). Then I switched and went to my Go to Ball the Storm Victory Road and went 222 in the 2nd game and 242 in the last game. A scratch total of 613. I wanted to kick myself for trying a different bowling ball that night. It really cost us some points but at least I know what ball works best.

Storm Marvel bowling ball Video on Chameleon PBA oil pattern
Check out the video below of the Storm Marvel bowling ball. I actually shot this video over the winter but didn't find time to edit it. I finally had some time today. This ball wasn't as popular as Storm hoped to be. It definately a good ball. It will make a good piece of a puzzle for some bowlers that are looking for a little more hook than the Storm Victory Road and a little less hook than the Storm Virtual Gravity Nano. It was advertised as a ball the revs up easy but I believe it takes a little more work than I am use to get it to rev. Not that that is a bad thing? Sometimes you need a bowling ball with a little diversity in your arsenal. Check out the video below.

This ball is a great 2nd shift bowling ball or even a bowling ball for lanes that are going into transition. This ball has great length and really revs easy.
